Life Changing Events

The past year and a half seems to be one big blur of events, good events might I add. I met the man that I am going to marry, bought a house, got a dog, bought a car, and became a mom. The first 4 things on that list I know, are believable....but becoming a mom?? Believe it! Now when I say I am a mother, I mean, stepmother. I know I know, you freaked out a little bit there, eh? With all these changes, I am amazed that I have not freaked out a little bit myself! But I haven't, and things are going just the way they were planned to be!

Johnny and I got engaged August 7, 2009 and will be married August 7, 2010. Same day? Yes. Coincidence? I think not! My parents were married on that day and it just so happens that my sister and her husband were married on that day as well. So, I followed right along in their footsteps! Johnny and I could not be happier! Now if only these next four months would hurry up! We have chosen to get married at American Village in Montevallo. We hope that you all will be able to be there!

In other news, not related to Johnny and I, a friend of ours is sick. His name is David Nelson. I have known David and his family for a long time, and I would appreciate if you remembered him. David just found out he has Lymphoma. For those of you who do not know what Lymphoma is, it is a type of cancer that begins in the immune system. What David and the doctors thought was just a sinus infections, was in fact, cancer. I encourage you all to check out his caringbridge page: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/davidnelson2 David and his precious wife Jenny have two beautiful boys and recently found out there is another Nelson on the way. Things may seem hard and not easily understandable right now, but David is a fighter. He has a team of prayer warriors on his side. I can honestly tell you I do not know how I would manage something like this. David is my age. I do not know why these things happen, and I know it isn't my job to know and understand, but it is my job to respond to them the best I know how. I love the entire Nelson family and will remember them in my prayers day to day.

Until next time...
